Manage/View an Audience

After creating the audience, users can view its coverage in the mapping layers and manage them.

Manage your Audience - Audience Finder

The Audience Definition Manager is accessed via the 'folder' icon in the Audience Builder or in the drop down menu underneath a user’s name in the top menu. Here users can 'Load' previously saved Synpop audience definitions, and save existing definitions as Custom Variables.

Turning an Audience into a Custom Variable

  1. Select folder Icon.

  2. Check on Audience to be created as a Custom Variable underneath “Selected”.

  3. Select “Add to Custom Data”.

  4. Wait for Custom Data to be added. A pop up will appear when the Audience has been successfully added as a Custom Variable.

  1. Select “MAP TOOLS” in the bottom left then “Mapping Layers

  5. Choose which of the Audiences to review. Read more here on how to interpret the mapping layer.

Note: When creating an audience for mapping purposes it is recommended not to use too many conditions when defining your audience. This is as the select audience may become too small to effectively map over a large area, resulting in a map with high fluctuations in values between neighbouring SA1s.
